NOLA Doodles

Hey!

I just took a trip to New Orleans and had a chance to do some full color doodles in my sketchbook. I thought these two were worth sharing.

I've been really inspired by the artwork of Dave Tevenal lately. His flash art and tattoos have got me wanting to get better at coloring and creating finished works of art without the use of a computer.  I think my small collection of markers is holding me back a bit, but that can be fixed! My real challenge is getting used to leaving myself some blank highlights. I've gotten lazy and usually add white space on the computer after I scan in my work.

Hopefully I'll make some progression and post more sketches. I'm also sitting on a bunch of other new stuff that I will post soon. This will have to do for now!

TREOS Shirt Design

I recently had the privilege of creating a shirt design for my favorite band of all time. These guys' music has influenced me creatively and without a doubt had an impact on my life. New Gates Shirts

Check out the latest shirts I designed for gates! These are a 2 color, water based screen print on American Apparel. These will be on sale overseas for gates' upcoming UK tour.



They will also be bringing these shirts! This one was designed by my multi-talented brother, who also sings and plays guitar in the band. Not to mention the fact that he recorded and produced their last album, and their upcoming album! Pretty cool.

Redesign!

As you may have noticed, I have done a little redesign to my site! I simplified things a bit, and re-named the site. Since all of my work isn't comics related, I went with a more broad title. You can now reach my website by visiting www.mattdyedraws.com (mattdyecomics.blogspot.com will still work too!).

You also may have noticed that my little web-store has disappeared. I will be redesigning that soon and it will return with more items than ever! Which means it will have more than ONE item!! Woo!

Dinosaurs!

Just a couple prints I've been working on. Both using the same 5 ink colors on White paper. The Triceratops have been printed but the Raptors don't exist yet. Hopefully soon! Eventually I will be making some little sketchbooks, using these as the covers.
